From October 9 to 11, a delegation from University of Oulu, Finland led by Mirja Illikainen, Vice Rector for Education and Satu Nätti, Dean for Education of Business School visited NJIT. President Zhang Yangfei warmly welcomed them and held discussion, sharing each institution’s development, academic strengths, and accomplishments in international collaboration. Both sides expressed a desire to advance cooperation, particularly in research, student exchanges, and faculty visits.
On October 11, Vice President Zhu Songqing and the UO delegation held in-depth discussions on higher education models, innovation in education, and industry-academia integration. Zhu introduced NJIT’s recent progress in curriculum design, faculty development, and collaborative projects, envisioning deeper partnerships in joint programs, curriculum integration, and entrepreneurship education. He welcomed faculties of the two universities to work together in innovation and entrepreneurship education, industry-education integration, joint construction of majors, the introduction of courses, and teacher training, providing students with more practical opportunities and international exchange programs.
The delegation also visited the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship as well as campus-based Tianyin Dreamworks Incubation Studio, where they praised our achievements in practical education. Dean Satu Nätti visited the School of Business and the School of Management Engineering, engaging faculty in detailed discussions on potential projects and reaching preliminary cooperation consensus.
Representatives from the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges, School of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Business, School of Management Engineering, NJIT-Oulu School attended the events.
